Open-Source Licenses

Last updated:

PDF AutoPilot is built on excellent open-source software. Most of it runs entirely in your browser — which is exactly why your files never have to leave your device. This page lists the third-party components we use and the licenses they are provided under, in gratitude to the people who wrote them.

HEIC decoding — LGPL notice

The HEIC to JPG tool decodes Apple's HEIC/HEIF format using heic-to, a JavaScript build of libheif and libde265, which are licensed under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 (LGPL-3.0).

In keeping with the LGPL, we use this library unmodified and load it as a separate, self-contained module that is only fetched when you open the HEIC tool — so it can be identified and replaced independently of the rest of PDF AutoPilot. The complete corresponding source for the exact version we ship is available at the links above, and a copy of the LGPL-3.0 license text ships with the package. If you would like the relink materials, contact us at legal@autopdfpilot.tech.
